YAY! THE DUCKS ARE BACK!
This morning at sunrise, yes, sunrise I woke up to all of this squawking and honking out on the pond. The pond had large patches no longer frozen and our feathered friends were finally able to go for a swim, dive and get some food. Something in the line of food must be in that pond this time of year, why else would they return every year?
They were a delight to watch, they would dive down and come up splashing the water with their wings. They really looked like they were enjoying themselves. I didn’t disturb their playtime by rushing out with my camera to take their picture….I did that just before the sun started to set.
It was so nice to able to go for a walk with Franki. The poor little thing hasn’t been walked in such a long time that she was exhausted when we came back. She stretched out on the sofa, on her back with all four feet in the air and slept that way for an hour. I promised her that as long as the temperatures didn’t go any lower than today’s I would walk her everyday. YUP!
