I have submitted my name to Chair the Pond Committee for the Montego Bay Civic Association. I had chaired that committee for five years as well as serving as the President of Friend of Walkers Pond, LTD. All of you that have property on the pond received regular mail from me explaining why this position was taken away from me. Actually, I should say US because I was representing all of you who have any interest in the pond. It was said that we were an “outside entity” and as such I/we could not chair the committee. We are not outsiders; we own property on the pond …. We pay our annual assessment to the Montego Bay Civic Association.

The President of the Montego Bay Civic Association has sole power to select whomever he wants to Chair that committee. I hope you will call him or write to him and tell him what you think. Remember this was his personal opinion not a legal opinion. The legal opinion was that we were not in conflict of interest as long as we did not vote on any money issues regarding the pond.

Although it was our recommendation that we engage a pond management company to look after the pond we did not vote on the money expenditure.

You can see the progress that has been made in these past years, with our help we will continue to make progress.
